Parent Committee Roles & Responsibilities 

Decorating Committee


  • Decorate prom & reception venue – includes area for photography

    • Working within theme voted on by grads, and budget provided: 

      • Purchase all supplies

      • Decorate day of prom – after the Cap & Gown

      • Tear down night of, or next morning



After Grad Committee


  • Organize & purchase food and beverage for after grad activities

    • Includes pizza, munchies, ice for drinks, etc

  • Set up food for grads arrival

    • i.e. leave prom and come to school to set up before grads show up

  • arrange for left-over food from reception to be brought to school

  • procure prizes for grads

    • bring them to school

  • arrange activities from 01:00 -02:30



Food & Venue Committee


  • decide on caterer

    • will likely involve taste testing (with small group of students)

  • keeping in mind budget and RFQ, decide on menu

  • meet with caterer for walk through of venue

    • decide on layout of food and beverage within venue

  • night of reception, keep in touch with caterer; ensure all is set up as planned



Raffle/Fundraising Committee


  • working with the other high schools, be the parent representative on the Tri-High Raffle committee

    • attend group meetings

    • procure prizes for the raffle

  • find other fundraising opportunities for students to participate in


General Grad Committee Attendee


  • nothing is done unilaterally by any one committee, so….. if you just want to have input, or help where you can, when you can, just show up at the meetings J


  • attend meetings, and have input on all of the above committees

  • help with collection of prizes for tri-high raffle or after grad

  • help with procuring hotel room for hypnotist

  • help with fundraising

  • offer your ideas and input
